On October 1, 2019, Thu Dau Mot University cooperated with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Business Forum to organize the final round of Start-up Ideas Contest with the theme "TDMU Startup Aspirations 2019".
After more than 03 months of launching and organizing, the Start-Up Idea contest "TDMU Starup Aspirations 2019" has attracted the participation of many students. Overcoming the surprise, lack of experience at the beginning, many entries showed the spirit of creativity, dare to think, dare to do; show the aspire of students to start a business by their own ability and knowledge. Over the rounds, the Organizing Committee has selected 07 projects to compete in the final round, attend the Southern Start Up Contest 2019.
7 teams participated in the presentation on business model, market access strategy, calling for investment capital, managing financial, managing human resource ... These are operating models in many different fields such as: technology, health care, commerce, tourism ... Specifically: Hostel management by smart system; Smart vegetable garden 4.0; Meals service for students at Thu Dau Mot University; T-Store handmade fashion accessory store; Property 4.0; Trading in formol test kit in food; ShareRoutes; Zero Farm eco-tourism farm.
In the end, the Organizing Committee awarded the best project for the project "Smart Vegetable Garden 4.0"; the second prize belongs to the project "Trading in formol test kit products in food"; Project "T-Store handmade fashion accessories store" won the third prize.
Speaking at the competition, Dr. Ngo Hong Diep - Deputy Rector emphasized, with the mission of providing high-quality human resources for socio-economic development and international integration in Binh Duong province, the Southeast region and the whole country, Thu Dau University One always focuses on improving the quality in all areas, the most important one is to improve the quality of training. Students are equipped with comprehensive aspects: knowledge, skills, attitudes, graduates are highly appreciated by employers in and outside the province. At the same time, the University also has many activities and supportive policies to encourage and create good conditions for students to start a business, help young people promote their creativity, self-reliance and entrepreneurial bravery; contribute to the development of future leaders and entrepreneurs for the country. She believes that, with the initial achievements that the students achieved in the competition will be potential business models, unique solutions that bring value to investors as well as users.
After more than 1 year of implementation, the movement of start-up students of Thu Dau Mot University has achieved remarkable success. Most notably, one project won the second prize in the Southern Startup Contest in 2018, one project won the first prize and one won the second prize in the Binh Duong Province's Creative Ideas and Startup Contest in 2018. In particular, In 2018, Thu Dau Mot University participated in the startup contest Southeast Asian Hult Prize for the first time and entered the Top 44 best projects. This is an opportunity for students to express themselves and exchange with international friends. Through these contests, creating opportunities for students to exchange, learn and improve startup knowledge, and necessary entrepreneurship skills in the process of developing future career.
