On the morning of April 24, 2020, Thu Dau Mot University successfully organized a scientific seminar in the form of online with the theme "Accounting - Finance and teaching trends in a new age".
In the face of the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic situation, the workshop is one of many activities organized by the University to work in the form of online (through the support of technology platform Microsoft Teams) to ensure fully comply with the schedule and quality of content. Through the support of technology, the conference organizing committee interacted and connected with more than 60 scientists, managers, lecturers from universities in South, such as Thu Dau Mot, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Open University, University of Finance and Marketing, ...
With the theme "Accounting - Finance and teaching trends in the new age", the conference gathered 48 presentations of experts, scientists in the field of accounting and finance in the country. The content of the articles focused on explaining many issues in teaching and researching in the field of Accounting - Finance in the context of the digital industrial revolution. Among them, there were outstanding issues such as: developing a training program in Accounting, applying Fintech technology in Banking and Finance; the influence of new technologies on teaching, researching accounting and auditing activities; developing accounting, auditing and finance training programs to adapt to the context of Industry 4.0, ...
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Hoang Trong Quyen - Vice Rector emphasized that the seminar is a forum for managers, scientists, and lecturers to present and discuss new trends, practical issues are concerned in the field of accounting - auditing - finance; especially the trend of teaching accounting - auditing - finance in the digital age. He believes that the research results published in the seminar will contribute to innovative solutions and improve teaching and research quality of lecturers in a new context, towards gradually improving training effectiveness of economic sector of Thu Dau Mot University in particular, and educational institutions in Vietnam in general.
In the position of executive, the Board of Directors invited six presentations to present, the authors shared the same opinion that the industrial revolution 4.0 is taking place strongly, on the basis of the core elements such as Internet of things, big data, and artificial intelligence (AI) ... These achievements have been profoundly affecting socio-economic development in many countries, in many fields including education and economics. Therefore, in response to the effects of the digital revolution, the training in accounting, auditing and financial research at higher education institutions needs real, comprehensive innovation, properly assessing and analyzing new trends of accounting and financial activities in the world as well as the current situation of the training in the economic field in Vietnam.
Meeting the objectives of the conference, the discussion also provided scientific arguments, identified opportunities and challenges, from which proposed recommendations and solutions for economic and educational development in the industrial age 4.0. Accordingly, the training program on accounting and finance should be developed to ensure the integration requirements, close to the quality of the program of advanced education in the region and the world, the training content must connect with trends of industrial revolution 4.0; develop teaching in the direction of promoting learners' positiveness, initiative and creativity, being learner-centered (STEM education model); build an information technology infrastructure platform in a timely manner to meet the development trend of digital technology (software, electronic vouchers, electronic signatures, calculations, rotation, and recording information on programmed and automated forms), requiring lecturers to apply information technology to teaching and so on.
