On November 10, 2015, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hiep-President, leader of the training department, international relations department and, scientific department had a meeting with Prof. Francois Leroy-Head of international cooperation department, Northern Kentucky University, USA.

At the beginning of the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hiep introduced some information about the scale of training, training program, about the lecturers, the facilities, the strengths of the training, the school's science researches for the blocks of engineering, education, social sciences and humanities, economy. In addition, he said, with the mission of education and training, the school had duty to provide high quality of human resources for the socio-economic development of the area, the Southeast and the nation. Currently, the school has tried to develop as the way of the research university with the goal of becoming a research center, a prestigious consultancy in the country and the region. The University's strategic goals to 2020 will be recognized as the school reached the national standard, and next will be the AUN standard by 2025. In the international cooperation activities, the school will be always ready to welcome the cooperation, the supports from the universities, the organs, organizations, enterprises in the country and especially, the foreign partners in the field of education training. Besides, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hiep proposed the partnership with the University of Kentucky in the forms 2 + 2 and 3 + 1 to connect with human resource training in information technology (IT)-electronics departments, and a number of lecturer-student exchange programs, scientific researches.

To exchange at the meeting, the representative from Kentucky University Prof. Francois Leroy expressed his pleasure to welcome and endorse the proposal of the Board of the Thu Dau Mot University. With regard to the international cooperation, Kentucky University has currently expanded and established cooperation with most of the universities in the world especially, the universities are located in Southeast Asia and Vietnam. Through the introduction of the Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hiep, Prof. Francois Leroy noticed the vision, mission and scope of training between the two schools have many similarities, and these are suitable conditions for mutual understanding and to the forms of cooperation in the future.

In the framework of the meeting, the two leaders had deep discussions about the cooperation projects for not only IT, electric-electronic, but also expanded cooperation for business administration majors, the English curriculum for students who did not have enough English input standards, some information about the scholarships, the school fees and celebrating students exchange program in two schools. After the meeting, the two schools will complete the necessary procedures and expedite the signing of a memorandum of cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, Prof. Francois Leroy thanked for the friendly affection of the school, he wanted to invite our school’s leaders to visit, learn the reality of the school, and if we have condition, we will discuss more about the details of the plans for long-term cooperation in the future.

Northern Kentucky University is a public university; founded in 1968, and located in Highland Heights, Kentucky. There are more than 15.000 students and more than 2000 lecturers, staff workings at the school. Northern Kentucky University offers over 60-degree programs, 6 continuous course, 17 master's degree programs as well as more than 30 graduate certificates. The school received the accreditation with small classrooms size of the College Committee of the Association of school and the University of the South (SACS).  The school has a student/lecturer ratio is 14:1. That helps students have a close attention of the staffs and lecturers.
