On February 25, 2020, the Scientific Council of Thu Dau Mot University held a meeting to accept teaching materials of the Vietnamese History major, entitled "The Southeast - History and Culture," Volume III ”is chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hiep.
Acceptance Council is headed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung as Chairman, Dr. Tran Hanh Minh Phuong - Reviewer member 1, TS. Nguyen Thu Van - Reviewer 2, and council members. The book "The South East - History and Culture" is one of many works under the scientific research project about the Southeast. The project includes 10 research programs (economics, society, education and training, history - culture, environment, urbanization, islands, borders, science and technology, international integration). For the historical-cultural research program, Thu Dau Mot University has advocated editing and publishing a series of "Southeast region - History and culture", consisting of many volumes, each of which has been compiled with specialized Scientific topics in some fields of history and culture of the Southern region from the beginning until now.
At the acceptance council, on behalf of the author group, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Ho Son Dai presented an overview of the research objectives, research content, achieved results of the compilation work "Southeast - History and culture, Volume III ”. This book is a collection of topics by many authors writing about the history and culture of the Southeast region under the French colonial period. The content of the book revolves around issues of colonial exploitation, archiving, urban construction, management and exploitation of islands of the French colonial government, the struggle against the French colonialism of the Southeast people. ... The topics were written independently, going into each separate topic, but when gathered, created a picture that is both an overview and in-depth of history - culture of the Southeast in the period 1945 - 1954.
Evaluating the achieved results, the Acceptance Council agreed that the reference books were elaborate, serious and valuable scientific works for teaching and researching about history-culture of the Southeast. In particular, the results from the research works compiled into books have contributed to meeting the needs of searching, teaching, and learning of lecturers, students about the history of the Southeast region, Binh Duong province ... In addition, the council members also exchanged and contributed many relevant ideas, suggesting valuable scientific and historical information and knowledge to help the authors to supplement, perfect the compilation, quickly publish to serve readers.
At the end of the acceptance, the council members unanimously approved the book "The Southeast - History and Culture, Volume III".
The research content of the book is implemented with 10 topics, including:
Topic 1: Evolution and consequences of colonial exploitation policy in the Southeast during the French colonial period;
Topic 2: Activities of management and exploitation of sea and islands in the Southeast;
Topic 3: Southeast under the French colonial period viewed from the socio-economic changes of Lai Thieu, Thu Dau Mot Province;
Topic 4: Thu Dau Mot provincial town a period before 1954;
Topic 5: Archiving activities of the French colonial government in the Southeast before 1954;
Topic 6: Southeastern Party Committee in the first two years of resistance war against the French colonialists (1945 - 1946);
Topic 7: Sectarian armed forces in the Southeast during the anti-French resistance war (1945 - 1954);
Topic 8: The role of Boi Loi base in resistance against the French colonialists;
Topic 9: The process of forming residential areas and cultural characteristics of the Cham community in the Southeast;
Topic 10: Dinh Co - Long Hai Festival.
